Lady Gaga Cancels Show In Indonesia After Protests

Islamic hard-liners worry that sexy clothes and dancing will corrupt youth.

<a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> lives to provoke and push the envelope. But not everyone is up for her antics. The "Americano" singer has been forced to cancel her sold-out June 3 "Born This Way Ball" show at the 52,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia after Islamic hard-liners and conservative lawmakers said her sexy costumes, suggestive dance moves and "vulgar" style could corrupt the nation's youth.According to the <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/lady-gaga-cancel-indonesia-concert-093021436.html" target="_blank">Associated Press</a>, a spokesperson for the national police said on Tuesday (May 15) that the permit for the show has been denied after religious conservatives worried that the concert could undermine the nation's moral fiber. Some of the critics actually threatened to use physical force to prevent Gaga from getting off her plane. Though Indonesia is a secular state, it has the world's largest population of Muslims and a small extremist fringe of religious leaders has been more vocal in recent years.<div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lady Gaga Will Bring a 'Personal' Touch To 'Born This Way' Tour" id="vid:717952" width="415" height="255"></div>"She's a vulgar singer who wears only panties and a bra when she sings and she stated she is the envoy of the devil's child and that she will spread satanic teaching," said Salim Alatas, the Jakarta head of hardline Islamic Defender Front (FPI), according to <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/05/15/entertainment-us-indonesia-gaga-idUSBRE84E0HQ20120515" target="_blank">Reuters</a>. "This is dangerous."Local police worried that they might not be able to guarantee security at the show and suggested to national police that the permit for what was to be Gaga's biggest gig on her current Asian tour be pulled. Every seat at the Karno stadium had been sold, with half of them going in the first two hours.The AP reported that permits for shows are typically issued three weeks before concerts in Jakarta, so it is not uncommon for tickets to be sold well ahead of receiving a final permit. Gaga's Asian tour started last month and the Indonesian flap is not the first bump she's faced along the road. Justin Bieber Headlining Believe Tour Kicks Off In September

Carly Rae Jepsen will open the 45-city North American tour.

While <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> fans are awaiting the June 19 release of Believe, perhaps they can slake their fever by snatching up some tickets to the singer's upcoming North American tour. Bieber will hit the road for a headlining tour in support of his fourth album on September 29 with a show in Glendale, Arizona, with fans who purchase tickets to the shows getting a chance to pre-order the disc. The "Believe" outing will hit 45 cities before wrapping up in Miami on January 26, 2013, with protégé Carly Rae Jepsen on board as the opening act for the entire run.<div class="player-placeholder right" title="Justin Bieber Promises 'Believe' Tour Dates Will Drop Soon" id="vid:770752" width="415" height="255"></div>"There's a lot of fun stuff," Bieber <a href="/news/articles/1685500/justin-bieber-believe-tour.jhtml">promised earlier this week</a>  about what fans can expect to see on the tour. We got a lot of surprises."The presale for the <a href="http://www.bieberfever.com/" target="_blank">Fan Club</a> will kick off on May 23, which gives diehards first crack at tickets and some exclusive merchandise. General public tickets will go on sale on June 2 in the U.S. (a day earlier for Canada). VIP packages will also be available, including premium seats, as well as potential meet-and-greet and photo opportunities with Bieber, autographed memorabilia, exclusive VIP merchandise and other perks. 'Boyfriend' singer teases a 'really special' trek that will exhibit his blossoming talent as a dancer and performer.

Usher 'Trained Hard' For 'Fuerza Bruta': Watch A Sneak Peek!

Don't get it twisted: Just because <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a> is known for smooth dance moves and rock-hard abs, it doesn't mean he didn't have to push himself for his short run in the trippy, <a href="/news/articles/1684028/usher-fuerza-bruta-looking-for-myself.jhtml">off-Broadway show "Fuerza Bruta."</a>For one night last month, Ush played the show's lead, Running Man, and offered lucky attendees an advance listen to his June 12 album release, <a href="/news/articles/1684389/usher-looking-4-myself-cover-neck-tattoo.jhtml">Looking 4 Myself.</a>As fans will see in the exclusive clip — and on Wednesday night's <a href="/news/articles/1685095/usher-twisted-climax-scream-mtv-premiere.jhtml">"MTV First: Usher"</a> at 7:54 p.m. ET — "Fuerza" required Usher to use every muscle of his body as he danced, ran, jumped and tumbled his way through the show, where no one speaks, instead telling the story through bright lights, music and dance. MTV News had a front seat as Usher rehearsed for his onstage appearance in April, and when we chatted with him on set, he opened up about using the physicality of the show to tell the story of his album.<div class="player-placeholder right" title="Exclusive First Look At Usher's 'Fuerza Bruta' Performance" id="vid:769347.id:1685086" width="415" height="255"></div>"It's not often that you're able to give somewhat of a visual or an emotional kind of basis of what your songs mean," he said. "A lot of times we're running through life and we're trying to find ourselves, and I feel like that was somewhat of what the messaging was with the show, but it was really artistic."This is more artistic an album than I've had in history and I felt like, yeah, it would be a physical challenge, yeah it would be a lot for me, but [I want to] at least try it," he added. "There are many times I'd seen the show and I'd only hoped that I would make it happen. It looked it really hard, they made it look easy, but it was obviously hard. But, of course, I've been training and it came at a perfect time."Watching Usher do all those acrobatics may have had fans wondering whether it was all that difficult for him since he makes it look so easy. He joked, "I work hard, baby."Usher will dish on the show, his album and more during "MTV First: Usher," all set to take place on Wednesday at 7:54 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. Ace Young proposed to Diana DeGarmo on the American Idol finale! Normally the finale is an emotional episode because we get to find out whose dreams will be coming true, but this time around it was over the top. This one is hard for me to believe. I remember watching Diana DeGarmo way back in season three, when she was just sixteen or seventeen years old. Charlize Theron Commends Kristen Stewart For Being 'Authentic'

For two people who seem so different, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron have great offscreen chemistry. In our "MTV First: Snow White and the Huntsman," they made each other laugh with their comments and played off each other's answers — like when Stewart described Theron in three words, saying, "I want you," and Theron replied, "You got it," and spread her legs apart.

When MTV News' Josh Horowitz caught up with the "Young Adult" actress, she chalked up their friendship to the age-old "opposites attract" phenomenon, saying that what specifically attracts her to Stewart is her genuine personality.

"The first thing I noticed about her was when she says 'I don't give a f---,' she means that," Theron said. "She's not just trying to be cool. She's not trying to be edgy. She's very, very authentic, and that's what I like about her."

The two actresses star in an original adaptation of the classic fairy tale "Snow White," which follows the princess as she fights alongside the Huntsman to reclaim her kingdom from the evil Queen Ravenna. The film hits theaters June 1, and Theron got to know Stewart as they worked on the project together.

"I think that there's an incredible girl there," Theron said. "And I like that she's so different because I think that it's authentic — and there's nothing I despise more than people trying to be something that they're not. And all these, kind of, quirks that she has, they're authentic to who she is and she's not putting it on, she's not trying to do it. She's just really who she is."

While the "Twilight" actress has received bad press in the past when people mistook her timid nature for rudeness or conceit, her co-star had nothing but praise for her character.

"You know, a lot of people at that age can still be [finding themselves]. And of course she's still going to be finding herself in certain [ways], but I'm pretty impressed with where she is already at her very young age," Theron said. "And I have so much respect for someone who can just authentically be themselves."

'Mob Wives' Drita And Carla Read 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'

Filth or sensual fan fiction? It's impossible not to have an opinion on E L James' erotic New York Times best-seller "Fifty Shades of Grey." Single ladies, girlfriends and housewives have all been drawn to the steamy novel — not to mention "Mob Wives." VH1 reality star Carla Facciolo hasn't read the current "it" book, but she gets the gist of it.

"To me, it's like a sex book," she told MTV News in an attempt to describe the "50 Shades" phenomenon. "Grey is a guy that every girl wants; he's like a dream guy and he seduces."

Carla's synopsis was enough to whet the appetite of her "Mob Wives" pal Drita D'Avanzo, who immediately let her curiosity get the best of her. "I wanna read it," Drita blurted out.

Lucky for the reality-show beauty, MTV News had a copy of the book on hand for her to sample. "It's very intense," Carla warned.

Still, Drita opened the book and began her moment of "Fifty Shades" discovery. "Get off the bed, stand over here," D'Avanzo read from one of the book's later chapters, in which playboy Christian Grey introduces his naive lover Anastasia Steele to a kinky sexual experience. "He holds out his hand and in his palm are two shiny balls linked with a thick, black thread," Drita continued to read before she stopped herself, shocked by the sexual suggestiveness.

"What the f--- is this?" Drita questioned in her unmistakable Staten Island, New York, accent. "They're ass beads? What is this? This is dirty — what the hell is this?"

"Fifty Shades" wasn't Drita's cup of tea, but maybe she will change her mind when the book is adapted into a film (Universal Pictures has already secured the rights). "How do you even know about this, Carla?" she asked, chastising her buddy. "You, for even knowing about that book, I gotta think twice about you."

Carla had only one reasonable explanation: "It's the hottest book out right now."

Robert Pattinson Wouldn't Go Fully Nude in 'Cosmopolis'

It seems like Kristen Stewart won't be the only one baring it all in her film's premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Her Twilight costar and longtime boyfriend Robert Pattinson will also be showing a lot of skin in his movie Cosmopolis, which will screen Friday at the French film festival. I went to the premiere on Tuesday and it was the coolest thing ever. First, the movie is AMAZING and Chris Evans is a superstar. Second, there were so many damn people there it was insane. I have been to movie premieres in New York before and they were nothing like this. I mean, they closed down Hollywood Boulevard. I would've taken photos to show you, but the invite said to leave phones in the car. But here's a photo of me in my cool Captain America 3D glasses:

(Sit down, stop jumping around, it's an awesome picture, I know. And the quality is amazing. It's not grainy or reddish... it's perfect.) (No, it's not.)

Anyway, Captain America is pulling a strong 71% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes right now so GO SEE IT! IT'S FANTASTIC!
