After the crazy on-air feud between New York's Power 105 "The Breakfast Club" host Charlamagne Tha God and Hot 97's Mister Cee's homie DJ Funkmaster Flex, we figured Charlamagne would have something to say about Mister Cee's guilty plea he copped yesterday.
The folks over at BET chatted with the outspoken Charlamagne to see if this feud is going to go even harder now. Read on for what he had to say...
Gyant over at BET spoke to the Power 105 host about how this guilty plea for lewd sexual act charges involving another man is going to change the game for one of hip hop's most influential DJ's:
“We live in an era where people are numb to everything,” Charlamagne says. “This is the same society that didn't care R. Kelly urinated on an underage girl. We are numb to everything in this society. Like seriously is being gay in 2011 a big deal? Nobody really cares.”
And Char's first thoughts when he heard about the guilty plea:
“Be free Mister Cee, be free. I wondered if this is the first step in him coming out of the closet.”
“It's not like he committed a crime, he just likes young boys." As a deejay Mister Cee could never lose credibility, he's incredible on the turntables. As a man, people might look at him like a liar or somebody who's been living a lie for a long time, but at the end of the day he's a great deejay and that's what he's known for and that's what I think people care about. I don't think people care about his personal life enough for him to lose credibility.”
Oh that Charlamagne. He may rattle folks up on the daily but we agree with every word here.
By the way, since Mr. Cee copped a plea deal, his sentence may be up to 3 months in jail or 1 year of "counseling."
