Beyonce Knowles & Jay-Z?s Cuban Excursion Blamed for New Tourism Embargo Bill

They had a marvelous time vacationing in Havana, Cuba earlier this year, but Beyonc� Knowles and Jay-Z may have sparked new animosity for the Caribbean nation among congressional lawmakers.

According to a report, a House of Representatives subcommittee just passed a bill that would restrict American visits to Cuba except for academic pursuits.

Jose Serrano, a Representative from the Bronx explicitly blamed Beyonce and Jay?s trip for restarting the debate.

?This bill is a response to the trip by Beyonc� and Jay-Z. It?s intended to play to an audience ? a diminishing audience ? who think there should be no contact with Cuba,? he lamented.

And while the new bill may actually pass a vote in the House, Serrano seemed pretty convinced that the legislation will be shut down in the Democrat-controlled Senate.
